Today Dad can scoot around in a wheelchair. He can slowly feed himself, but needs help about halfway through. Last night at physical therapy he finally learned that he can't walk. He needed help to stand between the parallel bars and he could only take two steps. We caught him watching NASCAR this morning.
and the reason he can't walk? Because of the injury to the brain during surgery? And he has to relearn walking? Is he tiring real easy? You are such a great help to him and your mom. Sure glad you are there.
ReplyDeletedoes dad even like NASCAR? turn on Pawn Stars or American Pickers for him and he'll be in heaven. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHe can't walk because of the coma. He was out for about a week and he lost all his muscle memory. Average recovery is supposed to be about two weeks of rehab.
